Pedants’ corner – but this was November 1936 – see Daily Worker article with similar photos included in the University of Warwick SCW material at http://contentdm.warwick.ac.uk/cdm/ref/collection/scw/id/3952 . This was the incident referred to in the ‘If you tolerate this your children will be next’ poster (online on the Imperial War Museum site at http://www.vads.ac.uk/large.php?uid=73198&sos=2 ) – a Jan 1937 pamphlet using the same image is also included in the Warwick Uni material at http://contentdm.warwick.ac.uk/cdm/ref/collection/scw/id/3012 .
